Georgia Pacific has announced retirement of Kathleen A. “Kathy” Walters as the executive vice president – consumer products group, effective June 1, 2019. David Duncan who is currently the executive vice president – building products group will succeed Kathy. Pat Boushka, who currently serves as president of GP Cellulose, will lead the operations of the building products group. Also, Munir Abdullah, vice president of sales and marketing for GP Cellulose will succeed Boushka as president of GP Cellulose.
Christian Fischer, president and CEO, Georgia Pacific thanked Kathy for her successful leadership over the past 15 years. Her expertise, business strategies and operational improvements have benefited the consumer products group of the company in a big way, Fischer noted.
Kathy joined the company in 2004, leading the company’s commercial tissue business throughout the entire North American region. She took charge of Georgia Pacific’s communication papers business in 2006. In the very next year, she was named the executive vice president of worldwide consumer products portfolio. Prior to joining the company, she served as the chief executive officer of Sappi Fine Paper North America.
Duncan joined the company in the beginning of 2018 as the executive vice president of building products group. Prior to that, he worked as the president of INVISTA Performance Solutions for a period of seven years.
Meantime, Boushka has been serving as the president of GP Cellulose since 2006. Before joining Georgia Pacific, he served as the chief financial officer for Koch Cellulose.
