Continuous carbonization furnace equipment uses and functions

A continuous carbonization furnace is a piece of equipment used for the continuous production of charcoal, also known as a continuous charcoal machine. Compared with traditional intermittent carbonization furnaces, continuous carbonization furnaces have higher production efficiency and the ability to operate continuously.

Continuous carbonizers typically operate in a cyclic manner, where the wood is carbonized through a series of treatment zones within the unit. The following is the general working principle of a continuous carbonization furnace:

Feeding Area: Raw lumber is transported to the feeding area, usually via conveyor belts or other devices. In the feed area, the wood can be pre-treated, such as by removing the bark or cutting it to size.

Drying Zone: The wood enters the drying zone where the moisture in the wood is heated and evaporated, usually using hot air or other heating sources.

Preheating zone: The dry wood enters the preheating zone and is heated to further drive out moisture and volatile substances.

Carbonization zone: The preheated wood enters the carbonization zone, which is the main area where the wood is pyrolyzed and converted into charcoal in a low-oxygen environment. Wood is carbonized at high temperatures, producing carbonized substances and releasing smoke at the same time.

Cooling zone: The charcoal coming out of the carbonization zone enters the cooling zone, where it is cooled down through natural cooling or an external cooling system.

Collection area: The cooled charcoal is collected and can be screened, crushed and packaged to obtain the final charcoal product.

The continuous carbonization furnace has the advantages of efficient continuous production and can achieve large-scale charcoal production. It is usually equipped with an automated control system to monitor and regulate key parameters such as temperature, oxygen supply, feed rate, etc. to ensure a stable production process.

It should be noted that the operation and maintenance of continuous carbonization furnaces require strict compliance with safety procedures to ensure the safety of operators and prevent environmental pollution. In addition, the design and operation of continuous carbonization furnaces should also consider sustainability and environmental protection to reduce the impact on forest resources and air quality.
