Sawdust can be used to produce white charcoal?

In recently years, more and more charcoal producers began to realize the large economic value of white charcoal. What they are lacking is the technology and method to produce white charcoal. In China, some charcoal producers tried to raise the temperature in the sealed kiln to above 800℃, then, they made the red hot wood contact with the oxygen for about 10 minutes. After that, the charcoals were removed from the kiln and covered with a mixture of sand, earth and ash to cool them. As contacting with the oxygen, the surface of the charcoal had a white color, and hence the name of white charcoal, which is also called “hard charcoal”.

Theoretically, any wood with the density more than 0.8 can be used to make white charcoal. So, sawdust is also able to be used to produce white charcoal only if you have the briquette machine to change the density of the sawdust.
